David Ogden was the proprietor of the Commerical Hotel in Texas (Queensland). He had returned the day before from Toowoomba where he received treatment for a heart compliant. According to newspaper reports he was in good spirits before retiring for the night. His wife awoke the next morning to find him passed away. He was transported to Stanthorpe for burial.
