Flying Officer Edward James Rowan 407009 of 9 Squadron RAAF was killed when Walrus L2327 struck the stern of HMAS Australia on landing and caught fire off the coast of Fiji

His body was not recovered and he is commemorated on Panel 5 of the Sydney Memorial
