"...1782 Private John Anderson, 4th Battalion of Granville, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Shropshire (A9) on 17 March 1915. He was killed in action on 6 August 1915 at Lone Pine, Gallipoli, Turkey aged 20. Post war his body was not recovered and he is remembered with honour on the Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
