7 Nov 1918: Honoured Companion of the Distinguished Service Order, Third Ypres, For marked ability and initiative as a Company Commander. During period 22 September to 23 October 1917 near Ypres he was detached and in charge of transport and supplies od Divisional troops. The camp was on several occassions bombed and shelled, and numerous casualties were inflicted. His conduct on all occassions set a splendid example to his men.
