"TREVOR, William. Private, No. 4899, 26th Battalion. Born and educated at Appletree Creek. The son of the late George Trevor and Elizabeth Trevor, of Central Mill, Childers. Enlisted 9th October, 1915, at Childers, and went into Enoggera Camp. Attached to the 26th Battalion. Sailed for Egypt in March, 1916, and arrived in April, 1916, where he went into camp at Tel-el-Kebir for four months. He then left for England, and went to Salisbury Plain. Sailed for France in Oclober, 1916, with 9th Batt. Later transferred to 26th Battalion, and was in action through the battles of Armentieres, Bullecourt, Polygon Wood, Passchendaele Ridge, Ypres, and went all through unwounded.
