We Wish You a Wonderful Festive Season and a Happy New Year
From everyone here at the Virtual War Memorial team, we wish you a wonderful festive season and a great start to the New Year! We especially send our best wishes and a big thank you to all ADF personnel who will be on duty and away from family and friends at this time.
For more than a century, many Australian servicemen and women have had to celebrate Christmas away from their families and homes in foreign lands. As always, this is a special time of the year, and our veterans had many creative ways to commemorate the holiday.
This festive season, we encourage you to take a moment with your family to reflect on how those serving our nation while overseas have experienced the Christmas period and how we can all commemorate and honour their service and sacrifice.
During the holiday period, we ask you to consider contributing to the Virtual War Memorial Australia by sharing information, pictures, artefacts, memorabilia, or diaries of family members who served in times of war. You can honour their service and create a lasting legacy. Encourage your family and friends to do the same!
